Blah blah summer
Ive tried to occupy my time reading and cooking and such, but i still get bored. Stephen and I are going to dinner or something tomorrow, should be fun. Work isnt scheduling me enough...suuucks. Anyways, heres a painting i did yesterday when the internet wasnt working...yes i am a sad addicted individual.

and on that note...im going to get back to being bored
oh yea, and Russ has good taste in musak...listen to M.I.A.

Even though i like to go on and on about how summer kinda sucks, there are parts that i do enjoy. For instance, when i get to forget about where i am and remember the good times at miami.

AznWightBoy: i forgot the part where i kicked my shoe in the air and nailed myself
AznWightBoy: oh no, pat hit me with it
AznWightBoy: was he throwing it to me?
AznWightBoy: i think he was
AznWightBoy: i saw it coming at me
AznWightBoy: but it didn't register
mere23: the 9 minute monologue about vaginas was funny too
AznWightBoy: i wish i could remember it so bad
AznWightBoy: according to russ, i said your new nickname should be "vaginal wall"

here is big D on that fateful night after getting whacked by his own enormously ugly shoe

a day in the life of a brueggers employee

1. get up at 7:00 am
2. Arrive at work with my hat, apron, and someone elses name tag
3. Discover that we are behind schedule with...everything
4. deal with the church rush
5. have a 30+ woman ask "do you work out? you have one FINE ass"
6. watch as a fellow employee cusses out one of the managers
7. serve breakfast bagels until 1, even though mcdonalds stops their breakfast at 10:30
8. inform about 5 people that we are out of roasted red peppers and then find out about 30 minutes later that we do in fact have several cans in the back somewhere
9. Stay an extra 30 minutes after working 6 hours with no break
10. Nearly fall on my (fine) ass on the way out the door as deluca mops the entry way....sweating like a whore at Temple i might add

friends and NYC

This past week/weekend was extremely relaxing and fun. On thursday I went to delucas with stephanie and we invaded his pool. Here he is seen being a jew....aka not going in the water.

On friday my whole family drove to NYC. We took a little trip, took a little trip to NYCCCC. (only an oldies fan would understand that last little comment) The ride up wasn't too bad, and soon enough we were seeing the familiar sights of manhattan.

Along with visiting family, we also briefly stopped in Weston, CT, where i used to live. We stayed with some family friends sunday night, and i managed to get in touch with hillary and mallory and we watched us some sex and the city with some other girls who i went to middle school with. Sadly, it just made me miss them even more. sigh. Back to the summer of work and pool!

i wish i had blogebrity status

but alas, my blog seems real lame to me. i cant wait to go to NY in less than 2 DAYS!!! I get to see my brothers and their girlfriends, and this is my only sweet roadtrip for the rest of the summer probably, so im going to live it up!
in other local news...
im interested in who likes what bagel types, maybe ill bring you a bag of bagels we would otherwise throw out if you tell me your preference! I figure, why throw out the previous last nights bagels (did ya get all that?) that could still last a few more days and save some money?
heres the list of possible choices:
blueberry, everything, salt, garlic, onion, rosemary olive oil, sundried tomato, plain, cinnamon raisin, honey grain, pumpernickel, softwiches, poppy seed, sesame, or cranberry walnut. No promises, but I think its a good idea at least.

So what would you call someone who takes too many pictures....snap happy? Tripper happy? just plain happy?
Well anyways, i decided to document quite an event at the poff household. After (several) days of ordering takeout, my mom made a delicious vegetarian paella. Heres what it looks like

and here is my darling mother and sister

we ate so much, we nearly exploded. This being the case, my mother informed me that disaronno can calm an upset stomach. liquor? all has gone to hell in this house. ok maybe thats a slight exaggeration. we are pretty normal.

ok...not normal...but certainly not lazy alcoholics as i sometimes portray my family to be. perhaps free time does bring out the crazy in me.

here i am showing off my newfound ability to look like im from the 80s with my hair all hiked up on top of my head.

summer sun

This week I have been doing some jewelry making, because I have awesome beads from all over the continent/world. Today i started off with a little bracelet just to get back into the swing of things. I took a 2 hour break to lay out with my mom, sister, and 2 of my mom's friends as a sort of pool party. Verna, my mom's friend, made chicken and a cous cous salad with roasted peppers and mushrooms and other such wonderfulness. It was a pretty day, and I was glad to not be worrying about work at all for this one day. Upon my return home to the lovely apartment...

....I made a necklace that is pretty sweet. Ask me and I might show you sometime :0
Last night, Carly and I decided to be sneaky Poff's. On the way to Village Tavern, i locked her window.

i was amused

she was not so amused...in fact she let out a terrific squeal and made this face. But then, she was appeased with a Hemingway

and i...with creme brulee

and POOF it vanished!

but we had other ideas to keep us busy for the remainder of the night
Image hosted by Photobucket.com

pabst and hoegaarden (premium white belgian beer)
real sick!

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

the hoegaarden went for a joyride
Image hosted by Photobucket.com

but the pabst would not be left out, so he got a hammer and smashed his way to victory
Image hosted by Photobucket.com

caught pabst-handed?
Image hosted by Photobucket.com

i guess some of our sneakiness rubbed off on the Pabst...here it is seen trying to hide in the far reaches of the closet
Image hosted by Photobucket.com

but it could not escape the watchful eye of...dun dun dun....this carly poff

Shortly after this, i passed out from all that chasing the pabst around. Well, it was either that, or bagel flipping since 7 am that FLIPPIN tired me out!

my new love

Literati is so amazingly addicting! If you want to discover it for yourself, go to Yahoo Games. There goes my life. Now that i have a job, I dont really do anything else...i just sort of sit around and then...work. Tonight, I watched City of God though with anthony and stephen, it was quite excellent. I hear Crash is pretty powerful as well, so i might see that sometime soon. I've decided to try and collect things from every continent...or as many as i can by the end of the summer. If all goes well, i will have covered europe, africa, asia, north/south america, and australia. I found out today that 2 of the girls i work with used to live in cameroon. Hows that for ironic. Not working tomorrow, so thats exciting...maybe ill clean up the apartment a bit. Maybe not. Ok, off to bed so i can sleep for absurd hours upon hours!
